O.Topic -Porter Cable Sander

I have a Porter Cable random orbiting sander. I can't keep the hook and loop pads on. I have tried new pads and even got a new base, didn't help. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hound

is a thin red pad that you glue to the existing pad that eliminates this problem.Ask your tool supplier.

Pretty well everybody around the old boat culture uses the Porter-Cable 7336 ROS with the stick-on disks. For continuous or heavy use in paint stripping and varnish preparation we have found that it is the best sander available to us. Lots of others sit on shelves while the Porter-Cables get a workout.

It's not hard to get replacement pads for that machine and the stick-on disks are cheaper, I would think.

I fully agree. The PC 7336 is a great tool. I've used one for years. The spindle is standard so you are not limited to PC pads. I use three different pads: 1)the PC one for stick-on discs, 2)a standard 3M H&L pad for standard hook & loop discs and 3)a reverse 3M H&L pad for the 3M reverse hook & loop discs. The stick-on discs are the cheaper of the three.
