Lincoln SA-200 weak spark.

Had the welder going tonight. Tried welding with it and had a weak yellow/orange spark. I have good power to the 110v outlet. Not really sure where to go from here, Any suggestions? Thanks a million guys.

just like the other guys said try cleaning the exciter with a copper (soap stone) and then check your main armature under the cover and clean it as well, and then if that does not fix the problem you might then have shunt field coil problems.

Mike, I asked you this before but I don't think you saw the post. When you try stricking an arc does you engine rev up?

might start buy cleaning the armature and brushes on the generator hopethat helps...Jer

check what jerry says and while you are at it make sure brush is touching ...my brush holder would rust up and not alow the brush to touch..have nice day may god bless
