Hey everyone, I made the plunge and went out and bought a new truck (2004 ford f250xlt superduty) I was looking at all the new tuners and chip for the thing and got confused...lookin to get a little more snot outta the 5.4. and suggestions on the best method to go? and do they really do what they say? thanks in advance everyone.

not sure about the gas but any mods (chip) done on diesels automatically voids the warranty.
you might want to check it out first.
www.thedieselstop.com has some good info in their forums and I think they have one for gassers

With a 5.4 the last thing you want to do is void the warranty. With the two valve head design they blew head gaskets like they where going out of style, with the new three valve heads I can't imagine it gettign any better. The 5.4 is just too small of an engine for a F250 or larger pickup, kind of like putting a 302 in a F250.

How much money do you want to spend? I don't think you will be able to get much more performance without spending quite a bit. Chips don't do nearly as much for a gasser as they do for diesels.
Hate to say it, but, it would have been cheaper to get the v-10.
