I recently found a Craftsman Power Hacksaw Model# 101.22940. The step down doesn"t work properly and I can"t figure out how to adjust it. Can anyone tell me where to find a manual for this hacksaw or some advise on it??

Have the same saw. Check the two spring steel plates that work with the rack. They should be straight across with a slight beveled edge that fit the rack teeth. The plates are attached to lever fingers that contact two mechanical stops located on the base of the saw. There is a slight height difference between the two stops. As the saw cut progresses the weight will cause the plates to bend, and click to the next position or second stop. This works back and forth through the cut. This is the best I can do on an explanation, in other words if the plates are in good shape adjust the mechanical stops. What is nice about this saw is the blades are inexpensive. I have a band saw but still use the power hack saw for angle iron or junk metal cuts.

Go to Sears' online parts website. You should be able to order the manual there.
