Well here it goes. I was clearing my driveway the other day and the pump loses all hydraulic power. E-47 model It has oil and the motor runs as well as the solenoids are clicking. So I brought it in the house drained the oil and checked the filters and the pump all seemed fine. Now the pump keeps blowing the shaft seal. I was hoping some of you would have a cheap solution for me since I am in college. Thanks

Don't waste too much money fixing that E47 pump. They were good in their day, but junk by today's standards. If you do much plowing, you would be best served by an E60. It is especially worth the money for the touch control remote. You will think that you died and went to heaven.

Thowes darn Myers plow pumps are a real PETA I had two of them and a spare that i would carrie with me as they would always break down , Sounds like you may have the pressure reg. sticken . Are you using Myers hdy. fluid???? if you are not then clean it all out and i mean all take out all the valves and make sur that they are spotless and not even a speck of dirt . I have found that you must do this every year and also change fluid every year . At the end of plowen i would put the pump unit in the shop to keep it out of the weather . They always broke down on thecoldest night and the biggest snow storm never failed. Never had that problem with the western's they would work even when it was 40 below.

you know my meyers used to freeze up in the coldest weather. i tried a lot of things and found out that "meyers plow oil WAS the problem" !!! on a whim, i put hytran fluid in it...that was about 7 or 8 years ago, and i haven't added or changed the fluid since, and my plow has never stuck or given me problems since...
