I got a Quincy 325 compresor from work that was being thrown out it appears to fine. It is missing the motor. It was a gas engine compresor. I want to use it at my home shop. My question is will a 5 hp single phase be enough and is there any thing in particular that I need to look for in a motor? I have found some new motor on ebay for around 250.00. Does that sound right? Thanks kfen

That's an excellent motor. Plenty of dealers, good quality. I'd go for it, unless someone close by you sells the same motor for near that price.

I contacted ICC about ordering some parts and was told that they do not sell to individuals only companys. Is this were everyone is getting there parts? I have a Quincy 325 that I need to rebuild. Thanks Jay

Look for a 1 1/8" shaft diameter or thereabout, and 1725-1750 rpm. Shoot for about 900 rpm on the pump. $250 sounds kinda cheap to me for a new 5hp, single phase. I'd avoid an off brand. Make sure it's not one of those 1/2" shaft, 3450 rpm motors. Do you have a brand name, or link to the motor for sale? A real 5hp motor will run it just fine.
