I recently procured a 3/4" socket set from Stanley so thought maybe there would be others interested in these.
They have a liquidation site on e-Bay evidently.
stanley_authorized_auctions is the user,
the 3/4" set auction # is
4339206152
Hope this doesn't stir the ire of folks.
Just trying to pass on what I thought was a fair deal.

I remember seeing Stanley tools at Wal-Mart and was thinking they were made in Taiwan?

1: The tools are made in Taiwan.
2: If you go tot he Stanle Works website you'll see that both Proto and MAC are under their banner.
They told me that on a back order they were waiting for a shipment from Proto for the tools.
I bought the 3/4" set and it is tremendous from my point of view.
I also bought 205 pc and 118 pc sets.
Actually bought two of the 3/4" sets.
The year notation on the boxes is as far back as 2002 so assume it surplus.
They do have picture problems sometimes as the 118 set shows the older non socket release ratchets, but the sets include the newer socket release ratchets.
FWIW

In Sears tool catalog is a set of 16 3/4 drive sockets for $279.99, no ratchet, no breaker bar, not pushing Craftsman as I am aware some people don't like them. But, $85 for 16 sockets plus a ratchet and breaker bar?? Someone more familiar with Stanley can correct me, but, as the saying goes, "If it sounds too good to true, it probably isn't true". Perhaps they simply have a large surplus, for whatever reason, and have to get rid of it. Just bought 3 individual sockets, cost me $13.99 each.

You ought to see what all Stanley brings into a local scrap yard. They'll throw out complete socket sets, saws, screw drivers, rulers, squares, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, and they stay right where they land until they are destroyed. If an employee is caught taking anything they are fired on the spot. I guess it's things like this that make the tools that do make it to the shelf so dang expensive.
