I have the fifth edition which was printed in 1919. Underneath that it says eighth printing...one hundred thousand. I pulled one of Davis' moves...I bought it at a yard sale for a quarter. Fred OH

Good Buy, Fred !!! I have some older versions & Machinery's & Audel's Books In the attic at the shop, Got most of them that way. Recently I bought an Audel's auto repair book from the early 50's for a dollar at the flea mkt. But a guy saw it & offered me ten before I got back to the truck. He has it now..... .. Regards, Davis

Hi Davis...I had one of those Audel's Machinist Handbooks that I bought in a book store in San Diego, Cal. in 1960.Through the years, someone wanted it worse that I...when I wasn't even there to conduct the deal. It had a lot of old timey things in it if I remember right and I was kinda proud of it...if they'd taken the modern machinist's handbook I could have replaced it easily...maybe they were antique collectors...such is life. I have the 15th edition, bought new in 1957 for $9. As of that time there were over 1,000,000 copies printed. The one I have indicates the first edition was copyrighted in 1914.
