Hey guys, I just wanted to ask if anyone thought that 62RPMs over the speed for the pump was too many? I have an old 310 Quincy I am running a 5HP 3370 RPM motor with a 4" pulley the pump has a 14" flywheel on it.I have calculated the rpms of the pump of 962 according to you guys formula? The Quincy Co. said the pump should run at 400RPMs at slowest, and 900 RPMs at the fastest? I have been running this thing for about 5years and have not had any problem with it, but I couldn't find a smaller cast iron pulley when I bought the 4" one.I recently found a place to get a 3" pulley. I am also going to sell this compressor since I bought myself a 325 Quincy!! one of the best compressors on the planet!!!!! Thanks so much in advance for any help.

Trucks...
I"ve got the same compressor and running a fuzz over 900 and no problems...

it probably mean your 310 will wear out in 70 years instead of 75 :-)

I"d get rid of it too... want my address ??

john

Hey John, Where do you live? I live in KY.It is still for sale $650.00 I just put a new 5HP motor on it a few years ago.It runs perfect, and the only reason I'm wanting to sell it is cause I have too many. If you're serious email me at [email protected]

Don't sweat it, the compressor won't notice the extra rpms. Congrats on the 325. Unfortunately, you will never again know the pleasures of buying a new compressor, lol.
