Does anyone know where a person can find a hydraulic valve for use in a steering system? I would like to make a system that actuates the steering assist cylinder by a valve on the drag link. When the drag link moves it would operate the control valve, which would then operate the steering cylinder.

Search the junk yards for an old Ford car such as a Torino from the early 70s. These cars had exactly what you guys described. My neighbor had power steering installed on his 68 Ford F100 recently using this method.

What kind of vehicle? I have been looking around for such a setup for my 1950 Ford F-6 flatbed truck, and the closest I have come is items like the one described in the link below.
