Sears saw--counter rotating blades and sheet metal

Has anyone used the new Sears saw with the two carbide blades that turn in opposite directions for cutting sheet metal? I got one for Christmas and I'm thinking this just might be the "thing" for cutting steel siding. I need to build another leanto for my wife's horses. The last one I built, I used tin snips to cut the metal. The blades for this saw are not cheap.

My Dad used to sell vinyl,aluminun,steel siding and all the worker bees on the job used plywood blades turned backwards in their circular saw.

A couple months ago I was replacing rotted wall girts on my machine shed. I tried to cut them with my saw with a B&D Pyrhana blade. Each time I touched the tin, I had a slot.

I'd say keep the blade exposure to a minimum, wear safety glasses and a full face mask, and leather gloves and get on with it.

The crew that built my new shed last winter used a power shear attachment for a drill that cut a narrow strip out.

I have had good luck cutting steel siding with a regular circular saw with the blade in backwards.

If you dont get a result that you like with that try one of those abbrsive disks that the hardware store has. if all else fails. I know the carpenter that installed a couple windows for us just used hsi circular saw as it was ( blade in the correct way) and went to town, now granted that was aluminum siding but hey try it with an old blade and see what happens.
