Interesting pics. Was the house on a slab, crawl, or posts before? Where are you located? Not trying to be nosey, but what"s a project like that cost? When I was a kid, my Dad hired a guy to help him hand dig a basement under our house that was on cedar posts(rotten) in northern Wisc. The guy had a heart attack and died. So Dad finished the job and laid up the blocks alone. Took forever, but he didn"t want anyone else to get hurt.

Two of my neighbors did the same thing a few years ago. Don't know about their cost, but 7 years ago we looked into the same type project for our 100 year old house, roughly 32 feet square. (T-shape with two small lean-tos). Would have been $16000 then for supporting the house and adding block foundation. House was rotting- we built new.

I had a partial stone basement under my house when I bought it. About 20 years ago my family and I (wife and 4 boys aged 10-15) dug out the whole thing and put in a full concrete block basement. I started out the year before and built a small payloader to get under the house. Dug out 20-30 feet length at a time and put in that length of footing, and concrete block. Used about a dozen jackposts to hold things up as we progressed around the house. No new cracks in the walls during all that jacking around. Had my own tractor and trailer to haul the dirt and rocks, as well as concrete mixer. Cost of block, cement, gravel, gas, and sweat. (Plus pool table for the boys).
