Had a flat on the front end and as they say Neccesity is the mother of Invention. Thought source of flat was a bad valve stem but valve stem hole is rotted out. What to do now - no rims lying about that will fit.

Took wheen and tire down to the shop and disassembled. Wire brushed the wheel and then covered inside of wheel with duct tape. Place some extra around the valve stem area.

Mounted the tire, installed new tube and completed the job. Has held up all weekend long and may last for awhile as this is not a 200 MPH rig. Gotta love that Duct Tape!!

I've taken duct tape and put it on a rim to stop rust from putting holes in tubes work good and last a very long time. Last one I did years ago and the tape is still there and it hasn't gone flat since

Some of us olders have been doing that for years. I thought they taught this sorta thing in SCHOOL! If in doubt, check the old FORDS!
Before duct tape, there was shoe leather. John,PA

Someone once asked "what is your favorite farm tool", Duct Tape and three pound hammer ran neck and neck.
