Virtually all compressors are left pressurized by their owners with no problems. I kept a roll around portable pressurized for 30 years or so (still do actually) and my new 80 gal upright two stage 7.5 hp stays connected to power and pressurized all the time.

You won't have any problems

If you don't drain, you get water accumulation in the tank and lines, best to drain once a day, unless you have an automatic valve.

I prefer that mine remains drained. I'm not saying that the small amount of water produced with one charge will cause much rust, but I like mine as dry as I can get it. An alternative is to use an automatic valve that drains each time it starts. If you leave yours plugged in, normal air leakage will cause it to run occasionally.
