I am looking to but a m&w pto dyno p-400b model can anyone here tell me what they are worth and how much power they can handle thanks

Some people are purchasing a 50KW= 75HP or 60KW=90HP 540rpm pto generators. And a couple of old forced air electric furnaces to use as load banks. No cooling air is required and net HP = volts x amps/.746 Plus they now have standby power for the next blackout.

I have a M&W dyno not sure of the model # I think it is as you stated.Back when these were made new the tractors weren't as big as today.I think my dial goes to at least 150 HP how big a tractor do you need to dyno ? The largest one I had on was a JD 5020 so they do whatever they will put out.

It is comming up on an auction so I just getting some idea what it is worth. I did some reseach It goes up to 125hp on 540 pto then up to 240hp on 1000pto. It would be nice to have as I am bulding a super m puller. Thanks for the replys

Some of the guys that have dynos take them to pulls and shows and charge $5 bucks or so to dyno other tractors-good way to get a return on your investment if you do buy it. Jack

At one of my shows there is no admission and we have a dyno that we hook up a lot of tractors to, Would guess at times up to 50 a day, always draws a croud but there is no charge, wouldn't want it either and the pull is strictly stock tractors and only by plow size, we have no scales and the classes are antique (up to and including 1939)and classic (1940 thru 1955) with 1 plow, 2 plow, 3 plow and 4 plow size, no hook charge and run average of 100 per pull and that is one hook per tractor
