Can someone give me their thoughts on whether I should purchase a 15ga or 16ga nail gun. I have an 18ga and would like a nail gun that handels larger nails. I do a lot of handyman stuff around the house, every thing from building a small potato bin to building a shop table out of 2x4s & 3/4" plywood. Your thoughts on the pros & cons of each would be appreciated. haines_6of6

I would go with the 16 ga. its a stright nail vs. an angle nailer of 15 degrees . 15ga is better if your doing moldings and other hard to reach areas, it also a little more expensive than the 16ga. I would recommond Bostitch FN16250K-2 finish nailer, its an oiless gun and very light see link below. Good luck

What does it mean that it is an oiless nailer. How much different is this stanley nailer?

Is that $99 price a deal?

The nailer you saw at HF is a SB1664 Bostitch nailer. That nailer is discontinued from their line. The new FN16250K-2 is the replacement nailer. What I mean by "oiless" is that there no daily oil lubrication required for the nailer, new design in O rings that do not require air tool oil.

Buy whatever You can buy nails for locally! I bought a round head framing nailer a year ago and nobody local sells the nails.... I have to mail-order them. And nails are too darn heavy to ship cheap!
