I use a lot of wd 40 around the house, the veichles and the shop so I buy it in 1 gallon jugs, than pour some into smaller cans to spray it. I used to use the hand pump type but found that for some reason they clogged or fouled up after a period of time and wouldn't work. A year ago I tried the type of sprayer used for spraying cooking oil in which the bottles lid doubles as an air pump to pressurize it and this worked great for a while but it too has also clogged for some reason. Does anyone know why this is happening and whether there are any solutions or more hassle free methods of spraying wd 40. Thanks for any help

We use various forms of recharegable aerosol cans. The low cost plastic ones work for a while, but solvents (yes, WD-40 is a form of solvent as is Kroil) will gum them up pretty quick. It softens the innards and they quit. You can buy the metal ones, either hand pump or compressed air recharge, from Graingers, or any parts/maintenance supply house. They really work well, and it makes your product so much cheaper.

Two years ago I bought a sprayer from Harbor Freight that is air chargeable from your compressor. Fill 1/3, add air and then add more air when the spray gets weak. Gone thru 2 1/2 gallons with no problem. Works like aerosol cans. I've occasionally used the same sprayer with other liquids. My guys think it's great.

Tom, I bought one of those rechargable aerosol cans a couple of months ago to use with a gallon of "Kroil" I had gotten at about the same time. I guess I could use it with my WD-40 as well; now.... if they would only sell "PB-Blaster" by the gallon (or do they?).

We buy WD-40 in gallon cans at the machine shop where I work . We use it to keep the machine tables and ways from rusting during plant shutdowns .

We use hand pump sprayers sold by the WD-40 folks . They seam to last a bit longer than the average hand sprayer .
