I just bought an older Homelite XL-98 gas demo saw. Missing starter cord, but the price was right ($50). Anyway, can someone give me some tips for using these saws? The only specific info I've found for keeping these running is to keep the air filter REALLY clean, frequently dissasemble and clean the starter, and run an unusually rich gas/oil mix. I'll probably be rough cutting steel stock and cinderblocks with it.

Thanks.

1. Eye protection, preferably a full face shield
2. Ear protection, plugs AND muffs
3. Respiratory protection. That cement dust is a killer.
4. Make sure all the shields are in place
5. If you've never used one before, go slow and careful. It ain't like a chainsaw, binding it can break the blade before it stalls the saw.
