steel shed insulation

Hello,

I have a steel shed that is made from galvanized corrugated steel. I would like to insulate the building. There are some gaps where the roof meets the walls and also where the I beams meet the walls. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Spray-on foam is spendy, but it will seal the cracks, and not cause dripping or condensation behind the insulation.....

Other forms can be difficult to attach, depending on what your shed frame members are & their spacing. They do make large fiberglass batting, like 9 feet across on a big roll.

You should seal the gaps, not just cover with fiberglass or so. Two different things, sealing holes & insulating the walls.....

I did get to see that the spray stuff is pretty expensive. I am thinking I will try one mix and see how it goes. The garage was full of holes and it took me a month to close them up with spare pieces of steel. I am thinking this will let me heat it with the insulation. Winter does get boring doesnt it.

Also, I saw that you are supposed to paint the spray on with latex. How would you do this since it will not be perfectly even? I am guessing that you would spray it on. Thanks for all of the help as always.

i dont know how well its gona work but i am putting up 3/4 styrifom sheets. i am about half done already making a big improvement

A word of warning going with styrofoam sheets. The birds and mice just love the stuff. They won't leave it alone. So after that fiasco and wasted money ended up using spray foam type of stuff and painted it afterwards. That eliminates all weather leaks sealing the building except for doors. Wished I would have had someone tell me of bird problem early on. Ron

hey Ron how about some infomation on that spray on stuff? ive only sealed the roof so far . didnt think about those critters eatin up my ceiling
