OT: Sleve removal

I have a project at work that has me stumped. We need to remove a 2" brass and graphite bushing/bearing sleve from a tube. The sleve is 5" long and the tube is 18" long. The sleve is pressed into the tube and the I.D. of the tube is the same as the sleve. (When the sleve is in place the I.D. is the same throughout the tube.) The problem is we cannot get anything in the tube to drive the sleve out, or pull it out. I'm in need of suggestions if anyone can help. Thank-you.

Thanks for the ideas. I tapped two holes, ran them through a bar of steel and pulled it out. Thanks for the help. Sometimes I get brain locked and need some outside help.

I have removed many bushings even from blind holes with a punch with the end reground like a U leaving sharp edges you can cut right down through the edge of a bushing.

I assume you mean bushing is pressed up to a blind shoulder. If it is something you can put in a mill or lathe... bore it . If so, once you make a few passes, it will probably come out easily. Or tap it , make a stud to thread in & use a slide hammer to extract it. There are lots of ways to skin a cat.

I've done that thing a time or two. Take piece of
flat steel about half the width of the O. D. of the bushing. Cut the length to the O. D.of the bushing. Grind a radius on the ends so it would
fit inside the tube. Then grind a "back" angle on
the radius ends so it can be "tipped" in the tube.
Put this in the tube endways and then tip it crossways. This will give you a push block on the
end of the bushing. (Be sure to tip it so the long side of the pusher is toward to bushing).

The above assumes you can push from the other end.
If not, tap a hole in the middle of the block you
made and use a piece of threaded rod to pull it
out.

Do you need to save the bushing that is inside the sleeve? If not heat the assembly in an oven until the thermal coefficient of expansion of the aluminum allows the bushing to fall out of the sleeve.
