Hot water pressure washer

Hi: I am looking for some help with my new hotwater pressure washer that I picked up at an auction this weekend.. It is a model 3152 Alkota oil fired unit.
The problem seems to be in the pump section.. This unit has a Sump for the water supply. and the problem is that there is no Suction from the pump to lift the water from the sump. If I supply water from a gravity tank it will pump fine. With the intake hose removed I can feel NO suction at all. I have a regular pressure washer and When I remove the hose on that it does have suction. I removed and inspected the check valves and all look to be in good condition There is another spring loaded valve that also seems to be ok. That is as far as I have gone into this as I do not know how far I can go with out gettng into Deep DOO DOO..Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the cause of the loss of suction..The Pump is A General model T991. Not sure if it is putting out the pressure it should > just that it will pump with gravity feed

I have a hot water pressure washer, and it dosen't have suction, I have to have water pushed to the pump. It don't take much, just have the water tank higher than the pump.

Hi Cole: Found the problem with my Washer it was not the pump.. It was the suction hose from the tank to the pump.. The material had softened and the hose kinked where it was bent and would colapse when it tried to pump the water.. new hose and away it went..Could not believe there was any suction there..I could not feel a thing with my finger over the intake.. but it is there. There is a switch on the suction side of the pump to cut off the burner when you stop pumping water, so you really need the suction to be working..

Hi John Thanks..

I did order the Manual.. not sure if this is just an owners manual probably won't have too much info on the mechanics of the machine.. I just found a site that had what I was looking for..www.pressure-washer-parts.com
They had a complete parts breakdown and list for this pump.. Should be able to figure out the problem from this info..
