Phone is a tool isn't it? My Panasonic needs a new battery. Only good for maybe an hour. Wally world wants $19.95 for a new one. Ouch..where is that cheap China stuff when I need it. Thats all most as bad as old tractor parts from the dealer. Maybe I can solder 3 AA together.

I recently replaced the 600ma battery pack in my cordless phone by soldering three 1800ma AA NiMH batteries together using the wire connector from the old battery. It goes WEEKS before needing a recharge!! you just need to make sure you keep everything tight so the cover will go back on your phone.

If you use NiCad batteries, they will last a lot longer if you place your cordless on the charger only when the phone says the battery is low.

Throwaways now days. I remember the first one I bought, years ago 125 bucks. That was worth a replacement battery for 14 some bucks. Wally has new GE's for under 20 bucks. Fact is when I changed servers I got a new v-tek "freebie" phone and is a decent phone. Newer ones are better cause no one can monitor the frequency on a scanner. As far as using 3AA's, you may run into a problem with the charging system unless you get the right kind of bat's. Try radio shack for a replacement bat. pack.
