We've got one of the meduim sized ones (around $5000 new) that we use all the time. Nice thing about ours is we picked it up free out of a buddys scrap yard about 5 years ago, and it was like new. I think we spent $5 on a capacitor for the motor and got all new stainless steel nozzels out of a 55 gallon drum full of them setting not to far away in the same yard. Working on the older construction equipment as well as the old friction cranes the majority of the parts we clean are NASTY to say the least. Like your talking about it uses hot water and a detergent and it'll take off just about anything on your parts, including the paint. We've tried various detergents in ours but the best stuff we've found is made by ZEP. I don't remember their product number off the top of my head but they have several different ones. Depending on what kind of parts your gonna put in it, meaning steel, aluminum, or mixed makes the difference in which you need to use. I know the ones for steel alone are alot stouter than the others and conversley the ones specifically for aluminum are "buffered" so they don't eat away at the softer metal. I don't know where you can get a smaller cabinet like your wanting, but if you find one you should be able to buy from ZEP with no problems, simply find their site and get up with your local rep. Dad and I are a two man operation out in the country and everything we order through them is delivered right to our door, no problem. Too I noticed you talking about using a water based cleaner in your hand parts washer. Again ZEP has a good product for that. Try their Dyna 143 cleaner. It's not water based, I don't really know what you'd call it, but it's one of the best we've found. OK, reading back, let me say I didn't mean to make this reply sound like an ad for ZEP....But, for what it's worth, in my experience they've got the best stuff out there based both on performance and price. Good luck finding a cabinet,no matter what you choose to use in it it beats the heck out of hand washing.
