Does anyone know if Dewalt is planning on coming out with NiMh (nickel metalhydrid) replacement batteries and chargers for their existing NiCd cordless tools? I can see on the web that they (Dewalt) are apparently selling these in Britain, but not sure about the US? I'm needing a couple of new batteries, but want to wait if NiMh will soon be an option.
thanks,
stephen

Don't know aobut their plans, but the NIMH requires a different charger than the NiCd.

NiMh needs a peak charger. NiCd uses either a peak or delta peak charger. The delta peak is a more expensive design. Power tools use the peak design. The delta peak packs in a little bit more power and the cells get hotter. RC car guys use them for that extra energy.
