Can anyone tell me what the compression should be in this 4 cylinder engine? I only have about 45lbs in each cyclinder now, but what puzzles me is they are all the same. Thanks

It should be more then 100. I have one that gets around 95 in each but its weak. Have you tried it with a wet test,i.e. putting some oil in each cylinder.

Yes, I have tried the oil and it didn't change anything - thanks so much for the help though, I was pretty sure 75 was too weak...I'm going to get a gauge that will screw into the 7/8" plug holes to make sure I'm getting the correct reading before I pull the engine...thanks again

This sound crazy but the IXK I have was very low till I ran it for a few minutes with out water in the system, got it hot and things broke loose. I also put oil in the cylinders before I ran it that way. Ran it for about 10 minutes and shut it down and walked away for a couple hours and the compression was up to 95 not as good as I want but it will do for now.
