I need to bust up a bunch of old concrete on the ground level of my old barn. I am going to dig out and pour a new slab with radiant heat tubing.

I can rent an electric jackhammer from home depot for $68/24hr. Also, on ebay I see new Chinese electric demo hammers for around $300-$350. On ebay, search for "jackhammer" and you will see several.

I am generally not a fan of ANY chinese tools, but I wonder if this might be a case where it woudl make sense. I can see having one of these around the farm being very handy.

Anybody had experience with these? I'll probably just rent, but I sure do love to acquire tools!

I SUGGEST YOU GO TO YOUR LOCAL CHINESE RESTAURANT AND STEAL A FEW OF THOSE SLANT EYED C*CKSUCKERS AND USE THEIR HEADS TO BREAK UP THE CONCRETE. THEN WHEN YOURE DONE YOU CAN POUR RIGHT OVER THEM AND SAVE YOURSELF A YARD OR SO OF CONCRETE. GLAD I COULD BE OF ASSISTANCE TO YOU D*CKWEED. OVER AND OUT!

Don't even attempt to use an electric on a large slab. You would be amased at how difficult it is to break concrete, especially if it is old. Electrics are nice when busting a small area inside living space such as a residential basement because of the large amount of dust generated by air equipment. If you are working in a barn. air is the only way to go.

Lynn, is up to you. Unless I buy something made in China by accident, and it sneaks by me, I don't buy it. I can go without it, period.

Personally, I've got a real problem putting money in the hands of the Chinese government so that they can build up and use against my family, my country, and myself one day.

Those son of a ..... . have a tendency to copy and pantent infringe by making almost exact replicas of our and other countries goods, the only difference is that meter doesn't say "Fluke" on it, that motor doesn't say "Honda" on it, etc, but other than that look identical. Those rotten good for nothing son of a ..... ., and the only thing can do is complain about it.

Nope, I have a real problem with putting our men and women out of jobs so that our companies can flood the markets with inferior products, and then charge $$$ as though it was made here, or elsewhere, while people are out of work, or being put out of work.

From a "Global economy" or "world trade order" or "one world government", which some are leaning torwards, the Chinese are a necessary evil (not trading partner) to bring down our economy to level the playing field with third world nations, and it's happening - people are losing their jobs.

It's up to you Lynn. But not in my house, and not for long if I find out. I can do without it, can do much better if never mistakenly bought it from those filthy rotten son of a ..... . in the first place.

Hi Lynn, dont waste your money to rent or buy. Those things are the biggest disappointment on the face of the earth. Rent a 185 cfm compressor and a pavement breaker or a least a rivet buster, and the 185 compressor. Trust me, you will be money and time a head.
