Husqvarna model 36. Can someone tell me how to get the chain sprocket off?

Model 36,136,41,141 Husqvarna saws are actually made by Poulan, parts interchange, Husqvarna calles them consumer grade. Answer to your question. You have to remove the spark plug and Block the Piston. They make a tool for this but, you can get by with an allen wrench. wrap several layers of tape around the short end, insert it through the spark plug hole and turn it to block the piston. Take a pair of vise grips, latch them on to the clutch perpendicular to the sprocket, now with a big cresent wrench stradle of the vice grip turn it CLOCKWISE (left-hand thread)

Another, very safe, way to block a piston in the cylinder is to feed in some light rope through the sparkplug hole. The rope coushins the piston but won"t allow it to rise completely in the cylinder.

I don"t know if this works in every case, but it is handy sometimes.

Electrolux owns Husqvarna, Johnsred, and Poulan. There are several saws that are the same saw but a different color thoughout the line.
