Brazing or silver solder question

I am preparing to make some tractor parts that consist of a steel plug that is brazed or silver soldered inside a steel tube. The plug is about 2.50" from the end of the tube. The tube is 1.500" OD and 1.125" ID. The plug-to-tube connection must be strong since this is a steering link. The plug will hold the ball joint cups in place. Any suggestions on a metal joining method? I would like to avoid threading the tube ID or drilling holes in the tube.

Hi JD, Use silver soldier as it's stronger and flows well and use Borax as a flux. Be sure all pieces are clean and oil free (burn off with torch before soldering). Use a neutral to very slight oxdizing flame and it will take some time, guess 10min before solder will flow. Clean the sivler solder rod also. This is all providing you have good tight part fit!!! When you get the solder too suck into the joint and it looks full, take your torch and run around the outside of the pipe adding additional solder inside if needed. This makes sure the solder adhears all the way thru the joint.
