Non abrasive chop saws

Need some input on the new steel cutting chop saws with carbide? blades. I would like a smoother cut. No sparks? Do the pricey blades last? They look handy, take up less space than bandsaws, maybe more portable? Thanks, Gus

I"ve been using one for a year now, and it"s been great. 3 blades later, but a lot of cutting, great for taking on site. The blades last longer if you let the saw come up to speed then ease into the cut. HTH

had a millwalky abrasive..gave it away got a dewalt carbide very good saw

I have a Milwakee, works great untill a tough piece of steel dulled the $150.00 blade. It did before that cut a very nice smooth cut.
