Craftsman Riding Mower

I have a Craftsman 42" Riding mower with a hydramatic tranny which is about 3 years old.

Last couple of times I used it, I can mow for 15 or 20 minutes then it quits moving. Belt is tight, but it growls and doesn't move. If I let it cool for about 15 minutes she runs perfect for another 15 or 20 minutes.

It's not the brakes, I've had those get hot and lock up before when they were adjust to tight, but it rolls fine when this occurs.

Almost seems like a bearing going out or something.

Any clues? Are these serviceable?

May be a srupid question, but have you checked the hydramatic fluid?

Actually, no I haven't. What type of fluid does it take. The Sears manual states it's a sealed unit, however I know the little plastic cap comes off the top.
