how can i cut tyres?

i sculpt with old tyres, but keep goin through a lot of blades on my jigsaw. to cut the sides i use a flat blade. to cut across the tyre where the metal is is the biggest problem.. lots of broken blades. i tried with the angle grinder but that melts it! any ideas?

angle grinder with very thin metal cutting fiber disc should do the trick. Disc is like 1/16 thick so should have minimal melting.

Both the wires in the bead and the belt on radial tires are very hard steel. The belt wires are very fine and if a blade will cut them, the finer tooth blade is the better choice.

Try a sawzall with bi-metal blade.

use a hack saw blade with one (bi-metal)
