Good morning Redneck Kurt. The place that I just bought a few months ago has treated lumber that the privious owner never Thompson'd (treated), so I know what I'm gonna be doin' next year. Thing is though, is a wrap around most of the house on the second story. I'm 6'2" at about 240 and can feel some some boards. The first time I go through and end up with a steel post up my butt, I'm gonna be kickin' myself in the butt for not fixin' them right now, right after I pull myself off of it. No time right now. If use pressure treated lumber, keep on top of cleaning and sealing, so don't waste money. My sister and brother-in-law used that plasticy (composite) stuff on their deck. Might be the greatest thing in the world, might not. Brother-in-law tried to talk me into using those boards for the horse fence I just put up, instead of the treated 1"x6" deck boards I used and painted twice with oil based barn paint. I sent him home to Sis - tired of always being upstaged by the brother-in-law. Nice guy, but I've never been one to top the Jone's - they constantly battle the jone's, or vica-versa. I aint got no Jone's live out here by me, just neighbors and friends with livestock and horses.
