Saw a Farmall last summer at a show painted with a metallic red paint, and although I don't think I would have done it, it looked pretty nice. Which makes me ask a few questions:
1. When did metallic paint come on the market (assuming it was in the automotive industry)?
2. What's in metallic paint that makes it 'metallic'?
3. Did any tractor manufacturer ever use metallic paint from the factory?

trying to remember back that far, but I had a 41 Chevy with metallic paint. I imagine Cadillac was first. The original ingredient was aluminum flakes, and I doubt if any tractors had it cause it was expensive and hard to apply then. Just a guess guys
