A friend of mine has a 6" floor with 4" sch 40 pipe 5" long buried level with top of floor. 2" from the top of the "pipe sleeve" is a 3/4 dia. bolt running hoz. through the center of the pipe. He uses open chain hooks(cant hooks?) to drop into the sleeves and hook into the 3/4 bolt. The out side of the pipe sleeve has weldable rebar welded to it to anchor the sleeve in the concrete. of course this must be installed during the concrete pour. He has drop in sheet metal caps to cover the anchors when not in use.

When I did my shop floor I laid a couple of h beams in the concrete. This not only gives me a way to run dozers in and out with of the shop with out tearing up the floor but also when I need to tie something down all I do is weld a chain eye to the beam. when your done just remove it. This has worked very well for us, been useing it for 15 yrs now..... .....

Hi Allan, They make a surface mount tie down for trailers, the D-ring lays flat when not in use and not as good as the next suggestion, or I use Hilti anchors in my floor. There a female coupler that you drill a hole into the concrete, then insert a coupler with a wedge, set the wedge, and then use a bolt with a piece on angle iron with a eye hole cut in one flange, and bolt the angle too the floor, remove when done leaving a 1/2" anchor below the surface, but I do run a bolt into the threads to keep dirt out when not in use. A 1/2" anchor is more than plenty as I've never pulled or broke one yet and I've had some very heavy loads I've lifted with them. Anchors are about $.75 eh. Use a rotor hammer to drill the hole, rent a Hilti T-17!!!
