I find it amazing here. We measure, measure and check some more to ensure we don't track radioactive contamination through or out of the Nulcear Plant here. However after walking outdoors 200yrds to the guard shack over the native soil/gravel/stone. We often alarm the final exit monitors with radon after rain storms. It does decay away after 30 to 60 minutes at the most. No fun going home without your boots, socks or pants. Any clothing that tends to make static electricity is worst to collect radon.

Hi Brian,

On a slab floor you drill a hole thru the concrete to gravel/sand bed and install a single wall 4" vent pipe grouted in crete for a seal on the pipe and run the vent thru the roof enclosed in a sealed pipe chase.

If your in Yakima, Wa area then you will need permits and check with the local building dept for what they require extra as Yakima, Wa has the largest Radon gas problem in the USA therefor codes will more strict there.

Lots of ventilation, especially basement or crawl space.
