How in the sam hill do you get a Jacobs drill chuck off the drill. There is a small bolt with left hand threads on the inside of the chuck that I removed but still cannot get the chuck off. If the procedure is different for a keyless chuck than for a keyed chuck I need to know that also. I am trying to replace a keyless chuck with a keyed chuck. Thanks Steve

try chucking the short end of the biggest allen key that'll fit into it in the chuck, hold the drill with the chuck sitting over the edge of your bench and smack the long end with a big hammer. They're right hand thread. Or.....if the drill has reverse, you could try holding that long end in a vise and using the drill in reverse.
