Does anyone out there know of a Repair Kit made to fix Hydraulic lines. My Powere Steering line Broke on my truck and to replace the whole line looks to be a real pain. Is there a way of temporarly patching a leak on a Power steering line??

I bought a tool to make clamps at a farm show - www.clamptool.com I got it for $20 - haven't made a hydraulic hose yet - but fdo have some good ideas -

is it on the pressure side or the return side, if its on the return side then air hose fittings and hose clamps will work fine, if its on the pressure side then the only type of repair i can think of that would be usable in a confined space without taking the line off would be the thread in fittings, these work great as long as they are properly installed, but probably would cost nearly as much as a new steering line, if it were me i would bite the bullet and buy a new line and not have to worry about it, if you patch it there who knows how long the rest will last anyhow

Hi Smark, yes they do make a splice for hydraulic lines. If memory serves, they make them for 2 wire and 4 wire. We always called them field splices. Seems like one for �� hose was around $12.00, but it has been awhile.
