You didn't say if it is to be open or enclosed. While you can make anything depending on your skill level (and I could), it is not worth the agravation to me. I have seen plans available but can't put my finger on them. I have seen car trailers go for $1500 to out of sight. The cheaper ones usually have treated wood decks, used car tires, and no brakes. From there you can go to steel deck ramp areas to full steel decks to beavertail (rear deck area), etc. Some have storage compartments, spare tire/holder, trailer type tires (steel radials), heavier couplers (2 5/15"), single axle brakes, dual axle brakes, slide out ramps, diamond plate, commercial lights, integral safety chains, tongue jacks, etc. I think the minimum to consider is to have brakes at least on one axle and better on both. Most state laws require brakes if the total load exceeds 3000 lbs. A lot deals with how much you will use it or what you might end up adding later anyway. I bought both open and enclosed but not recently, though I went with upper end. Roger V.
