Power Hand Saw

Has anyone ever used a power hand saw like the Bosch model 1640VS? I need to cut some wood baseboard and chair rail while they remain in place and thought this type of saw may be the best choice to get a good, straight cut. Any comments or advice would be appreciated.

Hey Raymond - I think you had this response before, but a simple dovetail saw is the best solution. Why are you going to waste money on a power tool that you will use once when a good old fashioned hand saw will do as good of a job? Japanese style pull saws have kerfs as thin as 1/64th of an inch and cut as precisely as the operator operating them.

A well sharpened chisel will also do the trick.

If you are insistent on using a power tool, buy a Dremel with a router base, use a straight piece of wood as a fence and get a fine bit - should do the trick.

TIP, Thank you for your response. Yes I did post previously. At the time I was unaware that Bosch made a "power hand saw". I did take your advice and purchased a dovetail saw and I will probably end up using it to cut my trim. Thanks for taking the time to answer my post. Take care.

I'd use a sawzall with a very fine tooth, wide blade.
