Yup, another American company sold, and this one went to Hong Kong. :>(

I've noticed that there tools were getting more and more foreign made, so why not the company too!

Bought a lot of Milwaukee tools over the years....probably not so many in the future. This is same company that owns Ryobi and Homelite, 2 organizations known for light duty (at best) tools in the first place. That sucks.

Man, how would you have liked to go to school every day with a name like Horst Pudwill...bet he got picked on real regular, bout like Ooter, from the Simpsons...

Sorry, I just couldn't let that slide. ;)

Hi Robert,

Man thats a shame as I was a die hard Milwaukee man.

I just bought about $1k of new tools and Milwaukee wasn't one in the group. Makita and Delta got my money this year.

Milwaukee reviews were pretty poor at best.

I lurk on a builder boys site. They love them red drills and impact drivers. I don't hear much about Delta. They like the Makita stuff, too.

I was suprise to find out they think Dewalt is so so.

DeWalt is owned by B&D but doesn't share much across the line. Some of the batteries have the same physical specs, but that's about it. I have a few--good drills. Delta and Porter-Cable were just bought by B&D, too.

Yeah, I have been thru a lot of B&D drills. No more 4 me years ago. They seem to have stepped up the quality with Dewalt divison, at least with the compound miter saw. Dad's 30 year old Milwaukee hole shooter still works. The delta stuff i have looked at is offshore too, when you finally find it in very small print. Who's left in USA? Tricky ? some have certain tools made offshore, some here. Just like John deere with there made in mexico trimmers, made in Spain gear boxes and made in USA mowers.

I mourn the loss of yet another quality tool manufacturer. I have the 18V 4 tool set I got for Christmas a couple years ago. Very thoroughly impressed with battery life and tool quality. It doesn't take many years for quality to suffer after an overseas buy, it seems. Look at Stanley.

I do think Dewalt makes a much better quality tool than your run-of-the-mill Wal-mart B&D drill.
