I am considering using Varsol in a parts washer I just got its a cheapie from Harbor Freight, it has a plastic pump, Iwas wondering if Varsol would eat or melt the plastic pump & if there is anything else I should know about Varsol Thanks Dave DaveF_54@ yahoo.com

I don't know about the cheap pumps.
I've done just a little research on solvents, I'm no expert.
There are different blends of "Varsol" for different uses. I believe most all "varsol" is mostly mineral spirits if produced for solvent tank use. I don't know if it should have anti-static (no kaa-boom) additives for solvent tank use, it may. Dry cleaning fluid is "sometimes atleast" a type of varsol, and there are other types of varsol, it depends on who made it, what they nade it for and maybe even when they made it.
Not trying to confuse you, but you may want to verify. You have the right to demand an MSDS from the manufacturer and your dealer, if they care about your business they will get it. Or you may want to do a meta search "on line" for the MSDS on the brand and ID number of the particular varsol you have. There are sights that explain all the MSDS lingo too. I try to keep from breathing stuff with additives that you can do without. Just my opinion, and you asked. Best regards
