Comment about CO detectors made me remember.
Last year I bought several cheap smoke detectors at the local "supply" store. Name with held. I burned up a pot on the stove and they did not work. I took them to local fire dept. for test and they did not work. Push the button and they sounded OK, but hold a match or burning paper under them and nothing. Took them back to store and got store manager. Explained that there probably were hundred out there did did not work. It would not hurt if all of you tried out yours with a match or the like to be sure.

You are passing on some very valuable information!

FirstAlert not only made gazillions of defective smoke detectors, they also made kabillions of fire extinguishers that don't work.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is in charge of the recalls. See
