Recently purchased a 14.4v Craftsman trimsaw and drill/driver. Charged both batteries and tried cutting 3/4" particle board with the saw. Cut real nice, but drained both batteries in not much more than 5 minutes run time. Never used a cordless saw before, but do they rundown batteries much faster than a drill/driver? Thanks, jim

That does not surprise me. 14.4v volt and trying to cut 3/4 particle board? A saw like that is exactly, just a "trim" saw. 3/8 plywood or white pine wood. 3/4 particle board is a chore for a regular elec saw. specially if you do not have the proper blade. To answere your question, the bats will hold up a little longer using the drill/driver.
The saw is not made to do the work of a 7-1/2 elec circular saw. I have a 19V trim saw but I know its limits.
