I'm trying to locate the owner of a motor home so I can get a bill of sale. When I look for him on the 'net, I'm told his (possible) location is available for a fee, along with ads for search services and detective software. The detective software, like "Netdetective", and "Webdetective" claim I can get all kinds of personal info, such as driving records, property and auto ownership, addresses, SS numbers, etc. with my computer.
If I can't access state Dept. of Motor Vehicles computers on my own, how is the software going to allow me to do it? Does any body have experience using the detective software and does it do what they say? The cost is from $30 up, some with lifetime support. You can send email if you like: [email protected].

How much info do you have? Go to the DMV and tell them you lost the bill of sale -- or did not have one to begin with -- see how far you get. Or bring one in typed without a signature at the bottom.
