Looking for tech 4 concerning my digital movie camera that got water logged after the wife went overboard. We didn't get the batterys out--didn't know about that probably killed the circuit board.
Any chance you would take a look at this camera--would send it to you.

Lenray: Did you by chance check with your H.O ins, maybe they will give you something, but it depends on what your deductible is. I am with Tech4, I think you will find that like a lot of electronic stuff, it is throw away. Like satellite receivers, 30 bucks new, yet the Mfr wants 70 for a refurbiished And or 60 bucks for a 2 year extended warranty?

If you did not get the batteries out then I hate to say it but it is probably damaged beyond economical repair. I am in Georgia and the shipping and return if it is unrepairable would be a waste of money. What brand was the camera as they may have a mail in shop that has all the parts and offer you a replacement at a very nominal charge.

It is a Sony Digital Video Camera Recorder--DIGITAL HANDYCAM DIGITAL 8.
After 10 minutes on the line with a Sony recording am told that they are closed because of hurricane Charley.
Must not be a salvage yard for cameras like there is for tractors.

How about the wife? Who's blaming who and did you get her out first or the camera? Our old Sony went bad from moisture--kept in the house. At least thats what the little symbol in the view finder says.
