does anyone know where to get these clips, I seen them advertised awhile ago but dont have the ad now , they are a clip used to hold down wooden decking on trailer ,you drill a hole ALONGSIDE of a crossmember and the bolts goes thru the clip and part of it goes over the cross member and the other end clamps onto the wood.
A large flat washer will work but these clips seem like a better way

You could go to a semi trailer repair place and get the self tapping torx head bolts they are about 1/4 by 21/2 long hold tight

We get our from a firm that sells equipment tilt bed trailers. They call them Bearclaws. I also did some reedecking on a drop tail semi trailer that used large heavy flat washers and 5/16" cairrage bolts. The washers were like fender washers only about 3/16" thick. The tilt beds we use are made by "BEST" and the semi trailer is out of South Dakota. Can't remember the make CRS.

I replaced the floor in my 16' trailer recently. I used elevator bolts to secure the floor to the crossmembers. Got them at Fastenal. They have a large flat head and work better than carriage bolts. IMO.

Don't know where you get the clips but this is what I have done on 2 decks lately. Lay the decking planks (2x6) all in a 2" perimeter frame and then cap the ends with an inverted 1" x1" angle iron and tack weld the 1" angle to the 2" perimeter frame. If you ever need to replace the decking, grinding off the spot welds will be much easier and faster than dealing with a lot of bolts.
