If there is, I would like to know about it. I have used a lot of differant things in the past, CRC, WD40, PB, Kroil all kinds of snake oils that salesman have brought into my shop, always go back to Kroil. I am gonna have to try Lelands idea, sounds like an interesting concept. The only thing I have found better so far is a smoke wrench, it works first time every time.

Discovered ZEP45 a few years back. It was the original penetrant with teflon. Have introduced it to every place I've worked since, and everyone who's tried it loves it.

I, too, like Zep 45. Only problem I have is Zep will only sell a whole case and only if you have an account. You got a couple / three cans you would be willing to sell? Let me know !

I used PB Blaster on some brass fittings recently. After 24 hours I still could not free without destroying the fittings which there was no replacement. I added heat with a hair dryer, a real heat gun would have been better but after about 5 minutes of the hair dryer heat the connections broke free with ease.

Sure is, PB Blaster. Tried them all but PB is the only one I'll use.

You'll probably not believe this suggestion:
LiquidWrench- *WITH TEFLON*
I don't like liquidwrench. But the teal canned stuff with teflon is every bit as good as silikroil.

Where it shines is after you've gotten the fastener broken free. It "floats" the rust, letting the nut or bolt continue to turn without galling or jamming up on the threads.

How well do I like it? My gallon can of Kroil is sitting on the shelf where it's been for several years now. I've made the offer to give it away many times and never have had a taker.

For what it is worth, I have had good luck with Gibbs.

Brian is right. We've tried them all and PB Blaster is the only way to go. Like any other penetrant don't expect it to work "overnight" if something is rusted tight, you may have to give it a day or so to actually penetrate and do it's magic. I've actually put 75 tons on a rusted shaft trying to get it out and it didn't budge. After hitting it with Blaster off and on over the course of 2 days I hit the end of the shaft with a 3lb shop hammer and it dang near fell out..... .A better testament to Blaster's ability I haven't seen..... ..

I've had very good luck with PB Blaster. It came through freeing up a stuck engine on a 10-20 McCormick Deering that I'm restoring.
