Shihl 041 spark problem

I have a Stihl 041 chainsaw, old saw but it�s been great. Would not start the other day, and initial troubleshooting says: no spark. I�ve got a couple of parts saws around, can I (a novice mechanic on chainsaws) swap parts and if so which ones. I don�t have even a general schematic, so I�m up the proverbial creek without some specific advice. Thanks in advance!

try a new spark plug first; then new points & condensor. You have to take the flywheel off & need a special tool for that. If thats not the problem, its a new magneto & special plastic card to adjust air gap. Order a service manual from a Stihl dealer or buy off ebay.

Thanks, 2x4. I found a manual on Ebay, should be here in a week. Changed plugs, no help. I've taken things apart before, sort of like a pig looking at a watch, and did not want another useless pile of parts laying around like some of the other piles of stuff here. This gives me a reference to start with, thanks again.
