Lowes it the only place I've seen these offered -- they are GMC tools, and they make saws and such. I've been looking at a compound miter saw they make, seems okay, and has a two year replacement warrenty -- and the price is very good.

Anyone know anything about the quality of these tools -- the best warrenty is the one you never have to use.

Thanks!

Terry

I too have looked at the subject line of tools at Lowes and decided that even though they are off Shore Mfg. also that I would purchase the Delta 10" power Mitre Saw and the Delta 8" Disc/6"Belt Sander for the simple reason "Delta" looks good in the Shop. Like they belong there if you know what I mean.

I bought one of the GMC sliding miters a Lowes late last year. For my purposes it is a fine machine I bought it for a specific project and probably will only use it a time or two a year from now on. I don't believe it would hold up long if a contractor was to it though. My one complaint about it is that the laser sight is next to useless,it is dim and the lens gets covered with sawdust. If you need a saw for homeowner/hobbyist use and you're not a tool snob don't hesitate go for it.

I looked at them once, but found that the blade on the miter saw was not standard, making replacement blades a problem. Probably should pass them up and buy higher quality.

Dont know much about and dont own any of the Global Mach Co tools. I looked at a router and sabre saw, while just browsing thru the store. They do look pretty impressive. Warranty dont look bad to me either.

I had never heard of them either but Lowe's had a display jigsaw on sale for $24.95 so I figured what the heck and bought it. I like it and it is a good saw.

I looked at the miter, and it looked good.
