Left handed chainsaw maker?

Have used left handed circular saws, that's nice. All worm drive circular saws are left handed.

While lefties can adapt to nearly any tool or other item, I see the safety/danger issue as the real meat of the issue. By the very inherent nature of chainsaws they are dangerous for anyone, let alone a lefty using a right hand model.

As a good example of all dangers to lefties, I read some years back of a study that shows on the average a lefty lives 7 years less life span than a right handed person. Cited among other things were safety issues of left handed persons being forced to adapt to a right handed world. I.E. accidents claim lives to shorten the average span.

I don't see how you could easily convert a conventional saw to left-handed use. Adding a handle to the right side of the saw would put the bar too close to the operator. Flipping it upside down would leave the chain running in the wrong direction. So that leaves making a mirror image of an existing saw. This would have been a big project back in the days of paper drawings and wooden models, but today designs are in CAD and casting molds are developed directly from the math models. It would still cost the manufacturer a significant amount of money, but there's a potential market of several hundred thousand buyers who would gladly pay a premium price for a left-handed say.

Why don't you fire off a few letters to different manufacturers (Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo). I think there's a lot of lefties who would pay $600 for a left-handed Stihl MS260.

Sure, I'm 'just used to it' but, I probably could be a lot more efficient & handy & accurate if I lived in a left world....

In grade school I was offered leftie sissors - I declined, even in 4th grade I realized most of the time I'd just have to adapt, might as well get used to it from the start.
